Take Opposition into confidence: BJP
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should clarify whether his “apprehensions” about nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorist groups were based on facts.
“[The] Government should come clear on the risk of terrorist groups acquiring nuclear weapons. Is it just an apprehension or it is based on some facts?” BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
He urged the government to share information with the Opposition and take tough measures to avert any such possibility.
“The government should share the information with the main Opposition party [BJP] and also take urgent steps, including legislative measures against terror and terrorism,” he said. The UPA government should take all parties into confidence on such a crucial issue as terrorism. “The same apprehensions were raised by the National Security Adviser some months ago in Munich. There has to be surely some facts behind it.”
