Merit rank list released

THANJAVUR: The Shanmugha Arts Science Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) University has released the merit rank list for admission to B. Tech. programmes for 2008-09.
The first rank was secured by S. Muralikrishnan of SDAV Higher Secondary School, Adambakkam, Chennai, with a score of 100 per cent.
He scored 200 each in Mathematics, Chemistry and Computer Science and 199 out of 200 in Physics in the Plus Two examinations. The second rank was secured by G. Srinivasan of DAV Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Gillnagar, Chennai, with 99.616 per cent.
The third rank was shared by Gudipalli Prudvi Rajeswar of Vikas Junior College, Tirupati, and Nimmgadda Lakshmi Vijetha of Shankary Junior College, Nizamabad. This list is for the 70 per cent seats to be filled by SASTRA following the process of normalisation based on Plus Two marks.
The remaining 30 per cent will be filled through AIEEE ’08 conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Counselling for admissions will be held on June 14 -18.
