KOCHI: The MACTA Federation, the apex body consisting of 19 unions in Malayalam film industry, is reportedly heading for a split. The rift came to the fore after the executive committee of the federation decided not to cooperate with actor Dileep’s latest movie. The committee took the decision after the actor refused to act in a movie to be directed by Tulasidas. It is learnt that 20-odd directors have now decided to oppose the decision of the executive committee. They might form a new forum. Reacting to the development, Vinayan, general secretary of the federation, said there was no split in the organisation. “Those trying to split the organisation will be isolated,” he said.
