High Court has stayed further investigations in the case There is evidence with regard to forgery of documents, says police official MYSORE: Even as City Commissioner of Police Raveendranath has recommended to the Director-General of Police to hand over the case pertaining to “forgery” of documents against Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji of Avadoota Datta Peetha to the Corps of Detectives (CoD), the Karnataka High Court has stayed further investigations in the case. After hearing the petition filed by G. Sathyanarayana alias Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji, H.V. Prasad, Radhakrishna and M.D. Harish Kumar Hegde, on May 27, Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das in an interim order directed that further investigation in the case that has been handed over to the Inspector of Nazarbad Police Station be stayed till the next date of hearing. However, there is no mention of the next date of hearing in the order. Interim orderDr. Raveendranath told The Hindu on Sunday that further inquiry had been stalled subject to the interim order issued by the High Court. The Vidyaranyapuram police had arrested the seer on May 25 and released him immediately as he had obtained anticipatory bail. According to Mr. Raveendranath, there is clinching evidence with regard to “forgery” of documents by the seer in collusion with officials of the Mysore City Corporation . MCC officialsA bigger agency such as the Corps of Detectives had to investigate the case agaisnt the seer as it would require summoning of MCC officials, he said.
