VIJAYAWADA: Students of the city-based Institute of Management Studies (IMS) secured top ranks and excelled in MAT, CAT and ICET entrance tests conducted at the national and State levels. Its students got 99.27 per cent success in MAT. At the State level, IMS students got 1st, 12th and 17th ranks in ICET, as a rural student with the support of IMS could secure 131st rank.IMS Director T. Ephraim on Sunday said their students had secured top ranks in MAT and CAT at the national level and also excelled in ICET-2008 at the State level. He congratulated the students who stood at the top and bagged good ranks in the prestigious entrance tests for admissions into MBA and MCA courses. Mr. Ephraim said the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) had 30 years of experience in preparing students for management entrance examinations all over India and its headquarters was at Mumbai. Though the IMS city centre was opened only two years ago, it was able to attract a good number of merit students. He said the first ranker in ICET was trained at the IMS. r. Ephraim said R.V. Mahalakshmi, who hailed from Avanigadda in Krishna district, could secure 131st rank in ICET with the support and coaching at IMS. “Her rural background almost deprived her of a chance to pursue higher studies. But she continued with support given by IMS. We continue to give all support to rural students,” he said.
