The celebrations will also mark third anniversary of the Regional Science Centre VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST), in association with the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, will celebrate the World Environment Day at the Regional Science Centre at Bhavanipuram on June 5. The celebrations will also mark the third anniversary of the Regional Science Centre. A poster presentation on ‘Co2 – Kick the habit towards at low carbon economy,’ which is the slogan given by the United Nations for the year 2008, and a written quiz on ‘environment’ for high school students mark the day’s celebrations. The objective of the programme is to highlight resources and initiatives that promote low carbon economies and lifestyles such as improved energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, forest conservation and eco-friendly consumption. Students who wish to participate in the programmes can register their names with the Regional Science Centre on or before June 3.
