MANGALORE: Activists from the district unit of Peoples’ Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Friday seeking the release of Binayak Sen from the custody of Chattisgarh police. Mr. Sen was arrested by the Chattisgarh police in May last year because of suspected links with Naxalites in that State. He is the national vice president of PUCL. Students and college professors from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada took part in the demonstration.
