KASARAGOD: The State Tourism Department is all set to showcase the beauty of Ranipuram, a pristine hill station in the district, before domestic and foreign tourists. Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan would officially launch an eco-tourism project at a function here on Sunday at 11 a.m. Forest Minister Benoy Viswom would preside over the function. Ranipuram lies on the Kerala-Karnataka border. The hill station is blessed with cool climate throughout the year and is a bio-diversity hotspot. According to authorities of the Tourism Department, the Rs.3.56-crore aims to develop the road from Panathady, a border panchayat, to a base camp.
