Held for theft of mobile phones

CHENNAI: The Vadapalani police arrested two persons, including a juvenile in conflict with law, on charges of stealing mobile phones from lodges in the area.
According to police, Selvam (43) of Kolathur and the juvenile would target rooms in the lodges which were frequented by visitors. They would steal mobile phones and sell them in the grey market. Police said both of them were first-time offenders. While the juvenile has been sent to the rehabilitation home in Kellys, Selvam was remanded to judicial custody.
Convict dies
A convict, who had been brought to the Government Royapettah Hospital, died on Thursday night at the hospital.
According to police, Subramani (34), who was lodged in Puzhal jail, was admitted on Sunday to the hospital’s intensive care unit after he complained of chest pain.
