Nandi awards function to be held on June 7

Ramakrishna beach to be the venue


VISAKHAPATNAM: All arrangements must be made in a perfect manner to make the Nandi television film awards function to be held here on June 7 a success, Managing Director of the State Film and TV Development Corporation and Special Commissioner of Information and Public Relations C. Parthasaradhy said here on Tuesday.

The State Government had been organising the function as a State function every year since 1990 and holding it here for the first time.

The 2004 function was held in Karimnagar and the function for 2005 and 2006 awards would be held here. As many as 132 artistes would receive the awards.

Selecting a venue to suit the function, making all preparations and providing all facilities for the award winners were the important aspects of conducting the show, Mr. Parthasaradhy said at a meeting held with district officials to discuss the arrangements for the function.

Collector Sanjay Kumar announced that Ramakrishna beach would be the venue and the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority would play major role in conducting the function and also take care of the expenditure.

Municipal Commissioner M.K. Meena explained about the arrangements being made for the transport, stay, etc. The award winners would be brought here by the Godavari express in two air-conditioned coaches.

Bandobust

Commissioner of Police N. Sambasiva Rao assured bandobust would be made for smooth conduct of the function.

Joint Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah, District Revenue Officer K. Madan Mohan Rao, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Praja Parishad P. Rama Rao, Secretary of VUDA Jagadish, and other officials attended.

Later, the officials inspected Ramakrishna beach, venue of the function, and discussed the arrangements to be made.
