CBSE schools put up a good show

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leading city schools secured hundred per cent results in the class X Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination, the results of which were announced on Tuesday.

Of the 164 students who appeared for the examination at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor, 101 secured distinction and 51 students got first class. Safeeda Shireen with 485 marks was the top scorer.

At Sree Chithra Thirunal Residential Central School, Kunnathukal, 32 of the 48 candidates who wrote the examination got distinction. Arjun S. Warrier with 95 per cent marks was the school topper. Of the 31 students who appeared for the examination at Sree Chithra Public School, Chirayinkeezh, 22 bagged distinction. Roshan with 91 per cent was the topper.

Navajeevan Bethany Vidyalaya, Nalanchira, secured 19 distinctions. Agnes Anna Mathew was the school topper.

At Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, of the 260 students who wrote the examination, 153 got distinctions.

Siba S., Sajna H. and Harsha Haridas Nair topped the list with 96.2 per cent. Namita Paul with 95.6 per cent came second and Anantha Krishnan N.R. and Anusree came third with 95 per cent. Anantha Krishnan, Siba and Sebin B. Nidhiri scored hundred per cent in Sanskrit while Namita Paul scored hundred per cent in social sciences.

Of the 182 students who appeared for the examination at Arya Central School, 142 students secured above 80 per cent. Subramoni B. with 482 marks was the top scorer.

St. Thomas Central School, Mukkolakkal, secured 152 distinction and 22 first class. Melissa Raju Thomas and Ratnika Prasad with 97.6 per cent were the school toppers. A total of 175 candidates appeared for the examination.

Of the 24 students who appeared for the examination at the Bishop Pereira Memorial School, 19 students passed with distinction. Anvar Muhammed and Sumiya Fathima with 92.6 per cent were the school toppers.

Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom, registered 51 distinctions and 20 first classes. Gokul S. Valluthottam with 94 per cent was the top scorer while Sreenisha K. with 93.5 per cent came second. A total of 71 students appeared for the examination from the school.

Of the 141 students who wrote examination at Saraswathi Vidyalaya, 114 got distinction. Nisha George with 96 per cent was the school topper.

MGM Model School, Varkkala, could get 46 distinction and 41 first class. A total of 121 students appeared for the examination from the school.

As many as 86 per cent of the students who wrote the examination at Sree Vivekananda Memorial Public School, Neyyatinkara, secured first class. The school registered hundred per cent results for the sixth consecutive year.

Of the 104 students who appeared at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Manacaud, 43 secured distinction and 42, first class.

Santhigiri Vidyabhavan secured six distinction and 15 first class. At St. Mary’s Central School, Poojappura; Harshitha S. was the topper with 96.4 per cent. A total of 82 students appeared for the examination from the school.
