Bronze statue of NTR to be unveiled today

VISAKHAPATNAM: An eight-foot high bronze statue of Telugu Desam Party founder N.T. Rama Rao will be unveiled at the Seven Hills circle at Ramnagar here on Wednesday.

Addressing a media conference on Tuesday, founder president of NTR Kalaradhana Peetham S.L.N. Swamy said that NTR had become synonymous as Lord Krishna for generations of Telugu filmgoers.

The statue, made by renowned sculptor Ravi Shankar Patnaik of Andhra University, was the first one of its kind of NTR in the form of Lord Krishna.

Felicitation to sculptor

He said that NTR had played the role of Lord Krishna for a record 18 times. The sculptor would be felicitated on the occasion.

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development D. Purandareswari will unveil the statue.

Chairman of AP Hindi Academy and honorary president of the kalapeetham Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad was present at the media conference.
