Proposed strike called off

NEW DELHI: Sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi have called off their proposed strike from Wednesday following a meeting with Municipal Commissioner K. S. Mehra on Tuesday.

Discussing the various demands of the “safai karamcharis”, Mr. Mehra assured them of timely payment of salaries and promised that appointments in unauthorised colonies would be made solely on the basis of seniority and eligibility.
