Another feather in EPDCL cap

VISAKHAPATNAM: Eastern Power Distribution Company of AP Limited was awarded the IS0 9001- 2000 certificate here on Tuesday. The representative of International Certificate Services, M. Prasad, gave away the certificate to the Chairman cum Managing Director of EPDCL, N. Gulzar, at their corporate office here at Seethammadhara.

The Chief General Manager (Operations) of EPDCL, B. Ramesh Prasad, said that the ISO process was started in October 2007, and was completed by March 2008. “The certification will cover five operation divisions in the five districts from Srikakulam to West Godavari and the corporate office here. The EPDCL has in total 17 operation divisions in the five districts and the remaining 12 will be covered by the year-end, ” he said.

The certification will improve the documentation, efficiency levels, power utility, safety and customer service.

To better the customer service the power distribution company had recently launched three ATPs (any time payment) counters at Gajuwaka, at their circle office (opposite Hotel Green Park) and at their corporate office in Seethammadhara.
