German held with hashish
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A 37-year-old German national has been arrested by the Narcotics Branch of the Delhi police on charges of possessing hashish and lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). The police claim to have seized 100 gm of hashish and 13 gm of LSD from his possession.
According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Satyendra Garg, the police were tipped off about a German national supplying drug in Delhi, Goa, Manali and other parts of the country.
The Narcotics Branch mounted surveillance on the suspects living in Paharganj and zeroed in on Christian Fell. On May 19 the police arrested Fell allegedly with the drugs. During interrogation, Fell said he came to India in 1998 in search of “peace”. He started living in an ashram at Pune before moving to Goa, Rajasthan, Kathmandu and then to Manali. During this period, he got hooked to drugs and to meet the expenses he started selling drugs. During a visit to Goa he came across another German national from whom he started procuring LSD.
First seizure
Mr. Garg said this was the first seizure of LSD by the Narcotics Branch.
