Celebrity Fashions suspends operations

CHENNAI: Celebrity Fashions Ltd., a garment exporter, said that it had decided to suspend operations at its plant in Madras Export Processing Zone. The MEPZ plant was acquired in April 2006 from Ambattur Clothing Ltd. Low productivity, short shipment, work stoppage, illegal strike, high wastage of inputs and slow work were among the reasons cited by the management for suspending the plant’s operations. — Special Correspondent
