Letters to the Editor
Arushi’s murder is utterly shameful and shocking, making one wonder where all the highly cherished values of love, compassion, empathy and humanity are disappearing in this fast changing world. Bring all the accused to justice, however high and mighty they maybe. P. Nirmala Rao, Guntur (A.P.) I am surprised at the readiness of police personnel to discuss a matter under investigation, especially through the media. The point about the tragedy of the murder of a 14-year-old is poignantly missed. Is there no rule or code of conduct for police officers? Trial by the media is a western scourge. Why should our police run a double homicide criminal investigation through the media? S .Vaidyanathan, Diamond Creek, Australia The media pro-activeness in the episode is disturbing. One worries about the impact it would have on the families of their relatives. Padmaja Lingam, Hyderabad
