Farmers’ plea on power supply

Coimbatore: The Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangham has appealed to the State Government to save farmers by ending the erratic power supply schedules. In a release, Vazhukkuparai Balu alias Balasubramaniam, President of the Sangham said that the State Electricity Minister, Arcot N. Veerasamy has announced that there will be no power cut in the State. But contrary to his announcement, the State was witnessing unscheduled and unannounced power cuts. Because of this, the farmers were not able to water the crop. This was resulting in huge losses Hence, the Governmet should ensure adequate and regular power supply, the release added.
