Army recruitment rally

Candidates from 10 districts can attend

Fitness test to be held on June 22 and 23


COIMBATORE: Army Recruiting Office, Coimbatore, will conduct an open Army recruitment rally for male candidates at the Government Stadium, Erode, from June 17 to 23, under the aegis of Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Chennai.

The rally on June 17 will be for screening candidates for Soldier Technical and Nursing Assistant from the 10 districts of the Nilgiris, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Namakkal, Erode, Madurai and Salem.

The one on June 18 will screen candidates from the Nilgiris, Salem, Madurai, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri for Soldier General Duty, while the rally on June 19 will screen candidates from Erode, Namakkal, Theni, Coimbatore and Dindigul, for the same post.

Screening will be held for candidates from all 10 districts on June 20 for Soldier General Duty (non-matric). For Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical, the screening will he held on June 21.

Physical fitness test will be held on June 22 and 23. Wards of servicemen / ex-servicemen, widows and NCC certificate holders will be screened each day for each category. Only unmarried candidates up to the age of 21 and married candidates above the age of 21 are eligible to attend. They should reach the rally site before 7 a.m. They will have to bring all relevant documents in original and two photocopies.

Colonel Rajesh Thakur, Director, Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office, Coimbatore, has cautioned candidates and parents to stay away from touts and agents.
