COIMBATORE: The Hydraulic Institute, USA, has evinced interest in working with the Indian Pump Manufacturers’ Association (IPMA) to develop standards and to conduct a survey on the world pump market. V. Krishna Kumar, the IPMA president has said in a release that Europump, the European association of pump manufacturers representing 18 national associations and representing over 450 companies, had invited IPMA and the Hydraulic Institute for its annual meeting held between May 14 and 17 in Lucerne, Switzerland. The IPMA presented papers on the Indian pump industry and the association, pump standards and standardisation in India and energy efficiency initiatives in India. Several participants evinced interest in associating themselves with the Indian pump industry. The business prospects included outsourcing pumpsets, castings and pump components from India.
