CSSF triumphs

CHENNAI: V. Danush’s three-wicket haul ensured CSSF a four-wicket win over Kanniah CA in the final of the Prahlad under-13 cricket tournament here on Friday.

S. Ravi, Competent Authority and Administrator, SAFEM (FOP) Income Tax, was the chief guest at the prize distribution function. Abdul Jabbar, former cricketer, presided.

Special prizes: best batsman: M.S. Suraj (Prahlad CA); best bowler: R. Ashwin (CSSF), player of the tournament: Mitchell Anthony Mannays (Kanniah CA), promising cricketers: M. Sairam (Prahlad CA), M. Prasanna (CSSF).

The scores (final): Kanniah CA 135 for three in 30 overs (Deepak 28 V. Danush three for 17) lost to CSSF 137 for six in 29.5 overs (Daryl S. Ferrario 32, Affan Kadar 26 ).

Semifinals: J.S. Rao CA 164 for six in 30 overs (Tejas 47, S. Krishnan 26) lost to Kanniah CA 168 for five in 26 overs (Mitchell Anthony Mannays 114).

Asiatic CA 60 in 23.2 overs (Affan Khadar four for 9) lost to CSSF 61 for three in 15.3 overs.
