‘Enlarged loan waiver to benefit more State ryots’

HYDERABAD: Commercial Taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna, while hailing the Centre’s decision to enlarge the scope of the loan waiver scheme to Rs.71,600 crore, said it would benefit a significant number of farmers in the State.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said as against 77 lakh ryots getting the benefit to the extent of Rs. 12,000 crore, the enlarged scheme would be applicable to a significant number of farmers in 17 districts.

He said already a Rs. 9,650 crore special package for farmers was being implemented in 16 districts across the State.
