HYDERABAD: Rajiv Arogyasri, the multi-crore health insurance scheme under implementation in Andhra Pradesh for the poor, is likely to be replicated in some other States. At least 13 other States have evinced keen interest in emulating Andhra Pradesh, going by the impact the scheme created among the poorer sections. After an official review of the scheme here on Saturday, its chief executive officer A. Babu said Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala had sent in their Ministers along with top health officials to study the scheme while the Assam Chief Minister visited Hyderabad to do the job himself. Preparations onMeanwhile, preparations are in full swing to launch the Phase IV of the scheme in July covering Adilabad, Nizamabad, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts. Available information shows that critical surgeries have been performed on 30,000 people all over the State so far at a cost of Rs. 130 crore under the scheme. In all, 6 lakh people had been screened at 2,500 health camps. Out of them, 15,000 people were treated as out-patients and 35,000 as in-patients at various listed super specialities hospitals in the State.
