Karthik to launch new party

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Actor Karthik, who was expelled from the All India Forward Bloc, on Saturday said he would soon launch a new political outfit.

Talking to reporters in Chennai, the actor said the new party would be launched in a week. “I have no plans to contest alone in the Lok Sabha elections. Our party will form an alliance in the elections,” he said. Earlier he held a meeting of his supporters.

He was the president and secretary of the state unit of the All India Forward Bloc before his expulsion. General Secretary of the party Debabrata Biswas on May 18 said the actor failed to attend important party meetings and his leadership stunted the party’s growth in the State.
