New addition to Aussie training kit

Melbourne: ‘Ponting TV’ — a big screen plasma television that helped captain Ricky Ponting come out of his form slump — is all set to become an essential part of the Australian cricket team’s kit.

The Australian skipper used the TV set at the nets to review his batting and it helped him immensely in regaining his form.

The equipment, which enables Ponting to play a stroke and watch its replay after five seconds, is all set to become an important part of his luggage during tours.

“That might be something that we will look at taking around the world with us,” Ponting said.

“If we can get everything right and take a big screen with us, where the guys can just have a glance over into the next net and see how everything is going, I think it is very beneficial,” the Aussie skipper was quoted as saying in the Herald Sun. After hitting his 35th Test century, Ponting said he was satisfied with his performance after a forgettable stint in the IPL.
