India, Brunei sign investment pact
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: India on Thursday signed a bilateral investment promotion and protection agreement (BIPA) with Brunei which seeks to protect and promote investments from either country with the ultimate objective of increasing bilateral flows.
Signing the agreement with his Brunei counterpart Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said that India was willing to meet the human resources requirements of the third largest oil producer in Southeast Asia.
More opportunities
Reciprocating Mr. Chidambaram’s views, Mr. Ibrahim noted that the agreement marked a new beginning and would facilitate more trade and investment opportunities for businessmen of both countries.
