BJP’s poser to UPA
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday wanted to know whether the United Progressive Alliance, celebrating its four years in office and achievements, would make Manmohan Singh Prime Minister again if it were to win the 2009 Lok Sabha election.
Mr. Prasad accused the Congress of eroding the prime ministerial authority as the “real power” was with 10 Janpath. Asked whether BJP leader L.K. Advani’s elevation as Deputy Prime Minister during the NDA regime was not an attempt to erode the prime ministerial authority, he said there were many instances in the past of Deputy Prime Ministers being appointed.
