Japan stuns the Netherlands; China holds Australia

Monchengladbach: Defending champion the Netherlands suffered a setback when Japan recorded a 1-0 victory after a goalless first half in the Champions Trophy hockey competition for women on Wednesday.

In another match, China held Australia to a 3-3 draw.

The Netherlands, Argentina and Germany share the top spot with six points each

They are followed by Australia and China, who all have four points apiece. Japan is at the bottom with three points after Wednesday’s matches.
