UshaComm bags Nepal contract

KOLKATA: UshaComm India, a leading provider of convergent billing and BSS solutions for the telecom industry, is now eyeing the market in the neighbouring countries, including Sri Lanka. This follows the award of a new contract in Asia for Nepal Telecom (Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited). The project, won against stiff global competition, valued at close to $2 million, will comprise UshaComm’s Customer Care and Billing solution.

Company sources said that efforts would now be made to expand presence in the neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka. Ushacomm has presence in most other geographies as a solutions provider.

Product suite

The UshaComm suite would provide end-to-end convergent solution for pre-paid and post-paid Internet subscribers of Nepal Telecom. It would be providing software licences and undertaking all associated professional services, including data migration, implementation, and integration of multiple third party systems with the UshaComm solution suite.

Multiple technologies

UshaComm’s product suite is completely convergent across multiple technologies. The solutions can cater to all flavours of the wireless telecommunication industry such as GSM, GPRS, CDMA, 3G, while serving all the wire line technologies such as PSTN, ADSL, Cable, Internet Dial-Up and the like. UshaComm’s solutions have been successfully deployed for all these technologies in over 45 installations worldwide.

“We are confident that UshaComm’s expertise in developing, implementing and supporting world standard, robust, and scalable solutions would be optimally leveraged by Nepal Telecom to rapidly enhance its revenues by providing cost-effective and innovative service offerings customised to meet the region’s needs” said Saugata Banerjee, Executive Director, UshaComm.
