CHENNAI: A four-year-old girl died after she came in contact with a live electric wire at her residence in Maduravoyal on Sunday.
The police said that the victim Kritika, daughter of Munivelan and Saroja, was alone at the residence on Perumal Koil Street, when the incident happened. While Munivelan, a casual worker, had gone to work, his wife had been to a nearby shop. The child attempted to sit on top of a wet grinder when there was no electricity. When the supply resumed, the child was holding the live wire. Saroja returned home to see her daughter unconscious. Though she rushed the child to a hospital, doctors declared her brought dead.
