THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rynold Timothy retained the men’s singles title in the Sree Chitra State tennis championship at the TTC courts here on Monday. In the final, Timothy breezed past Binu Mani 6-2, 6-2. He also took the doubles title along with K. Sankar. The duo beat Binu and Binoj Mani 6-2, 7-5 in the final. Parvathy Vijayan took the women’s title with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Neha S. Nair in the final. Parvathy also won the under-18 singles title after defeating Bhavya Shah 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in the final. The results (all finals): Men’s singles: Rynold Timothy bt Binu Mani 6-2, 6-2; Doubles: Rynold Timohty & K. Sankar bt Binu Mani & Binoj Mani 6-2, 7-5. Boys: U-18: J.S. Arun Raj bt Anand George 6-1, 6-1; U-16: J.S. Arun Raj bt Anand George 6-3, 6-1; U-14: S.V. Kiran bt Sachin Vinoth 0-6, 7-6, 6-1. Women: Parvathy Vijayan bt Neha S. Nair 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
