KOLKATA: Anuja Chandra of PSPB won her maiden 9-ball pool title, beating Indira Gowda of Karnataka 5-1 in the final of ONGC-Spring Club National women’s pool championship here on Sunday. Anuja had won the 8-ball National title last year. With this, Anuja has 11 crowns to her credit including six in billiards and three in snooker. Her sister Meenal Thakur won the 8-ball title on Saturday. In the men’s 8-ball event, local lad Shahbaz Adil Khan of PSPB shocked Dharmender Lilly 6-3, while Charles of Mizoram upset National champion Davendra Joshi 6-5. Neeraj Kumar of Bihar accounted for India No. 3, Rafath Habib 6-3. – Special Correspondent
