Two women found dead
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: Two women were found dead in a home in Saathangadu, North Chennai on Saturday early morning.
The police said that Christie Jayanthi Malar (40) of Kalaignar Nagar and Rukmani (40) of the same locality knew each other for over 20 years. Though both of them were married and lived with their husbands in their homes, they frequently met at Malar’s house. Their relatives objected to this.
As the two friends were upset over the accusations, it is suspected that they decided to end their lives last night.
When there was thick smoke and loud noise from a room of Malar’s house, the neighbours informed the police. After breaking open the lock, the police found them dead.
The Saathangadu police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem. A senior police officer said that based on the post-mortem reports, further investigation would be conducted.
