Security cover

In the wake of Jaipur bomb blasts, an unprecedented security cover is thrown around the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Uppal) here. A long list of ‘nos’ was released, both by the Police and the Franchisee owners. They appealed to the fans not to carry tiffin boxes, containers, ladies purses, handbags, cell phones, water bottles, cameras, binoculars, trumpets, musical gadgets and any other material which is objectionable. “Any one violating these instructions will not be allowed into the vicinity even they hold genuine tickets,” the release said.

So much so that the medical staff which is on stand-by for an emergency is now grappling with officials to let them be given special permission to carry mobiles for quick communication in case of any exigency to ensure that all the five ambulances at all gates are put to use.
