Talent test to select students for scholarships

Kakinada: MLC N Sesha Reddy has called upon teachers to strive make as many ninth class students as possible, qualify for scholarship scheme announced by the Centre recently.
He stated in a press release that the scholarship was announced to encourage the students of government schools to perform well in their studies and collective efforts have to be made to ensure success of the scheme.
Mr. Sesha Reddy said a talent test would be conducted to select students for the annual scholarships of Rs 6,000 to be paid till Intermediate.
Students whose family income is less than Rs 1.5 lakh in a year are eligible for scholarships.
Therefore, the students have to be given proper coaching to enable them to avail of the scheme, the MLC added.
