Computer parts seized from air passenger

Nedumbassery: Officials of the customs department at the Cochin international airport seized computer equipment worth Rs.7 lakhs in the international market, from a passenger on Friday.

The equipments were concealed in the luggage of the passenger, John hailing from Alappuzha, who had arrived here in the morning from Sharjah. However, sources in the airport said that the movement of goods without paying duty through this airport was rising considerably. Two days back, customs officials seized medical equipments from an international passenger. The passenger was later released after paying a fine.
