IJEGUN (Nigeria): Rescuers worked on Friday to reconnect family members and register any remaining missing victims from a Nigeria pipeline fire that killed 100 people. Newly homeless people picked through the charred wreckage of their homes. Red Cross officials said firefighters had extinguished the blaze on a fuel pipeline that ran through a crowded suburb of the city of Lagos. The fire broke out on Thursday after road construction equipment pierced the pipe and fuel began spewing into the surrounding neighborhood of Ijegun village, on the distant outskirts of Lagos. — AP
