Printing centres to expedite issue of voter ID cards

Staff Reporter

DINDIGUL: Eligible voters in the district will get Electors’ Photo Identity Card (EPIC) within a week as the district administration has set up permanent printing centres to issue cards quickly, according to K. Chandrasekaran, District Revenue Officer.

He was inaugurating a printing centre at Dindigul taluk office here on Thursday. Printing centres have also been opened at Palani, Vedasandur, Natham, Oddanchatram, Athoor, Kodaikanal and Nilakottai taluk offices for convenience of voters.

An officer in the rank of Deputy Tahsildar has been posted to man each centre. The centre has a computer, a camera and a printer and sufficient staff.

Corrections if any in the identity card will be made within 10 minutes free of cost to all voters.
