Naidu hints at positive response on Telangana

Duddeda (Medak): TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that he would positively consider the conclusions of the five-member committee constituted by the party on Telangana issue.

Although the committee may take more time to submit its report, he said, speaking at a press conference here, that TDP was never against Telangana and it demands an explanation from both Congress and TRS as to why they had backtracked on their pre-poll promise.

He said that the TDP would like to put this subject to public scrutiny before taking a decision. Refusing to comment on questions whether he found Telangana sentiment during his yatra and on the possibility of withdrawing the letter to Pranab committee, he said that unlike the Congress and TRS, the TDP has credibility and it would stick to its promise even if it is on Telangana.

Criticising the TRS for not taking up issues like Babli, Gulf returnees and beedi workers, Mr. Naidu said that TRS is whiling away time just by presenting a make-believe movie on the Telangana scene.
