Chief Minister campaigns in Adilabad

ADILABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday began his election campaign in Adilabad district from Bhainsa the headquarter town of Mudhole constituency.

The constituency is represented by Narayan Rao Patel, a Telangana Rashtra Samiti rebel who has vowed support to Congress candidate A. Indrakaran Reddy for Adilabad Lok Sabha seat.

The Chief Minister was delayed by about one hour to be welcomed by a large gathering. Power Minister Shabbir Ali also accompanied him as Bhainsa town has a sizable Muslim population.

He recounted the achievements of his Government with regard to welfare of farmers.

He said no sooner the Congress came to power it supplied power free of charge to farmers as promised. Besides, it endeavoured to benefit farmers by constructing many irrigation projects.

He urged voters to elect Mr. Indrakaran Reddy in the May 29 bypoll. Later, he went to Nirmal town where he addressed another public meeting.

He is slated to conduct road shows in Nirmal on Saturday morning.
