Joint Collector talks tough on rice diversion

Kakinada: Joint Collector G.S.R.K.R. Vijay Kumar warned that penal action would be taken not only against those who divert the rice meant for distribution through fair price shops but also the buyers.

He said rice at the rate of Rs. 2-a-kilo would be distributed till May 19 only and, steps were being taken to make the subsidy rice available from the first to 15th of every month starting from June.

Addressing a review meeting on Rs. 2-a-kg rice scheme and other welfare activities, Mr. Vijay Kumar said that he should be personally informed about the scheme’s.
