UPSC examination tomorrow

PUDUCHERRY: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has selected Puducherry as one of the centres to conduct the All India Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.

A total of 1,676 candidates will write the examination at four sub-centres on Sunday.

According to a release , the government has made arrangements for operating special buses for candidates who are coming to Puducherry from far away places .

Accordingly, an information counter would be set up at the new bus stand near the police booth from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. to guide the candidates coming from outstations.

They could avail themselves of the free bus facilities at the new bus stand from 6.30 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. and the services would be operated near the police outpost in the new bus stand.

Security arrangements have been made at all four sub-centres of the examination.

The examination would be held in the forenoon and afternoon sessions in the following sub-centres: Vivekananda Higher Secondary School, Sellaperumalpet, Lawspet Main Road (near Lawspet Bus Stand), Bharathidasan Government College for Women, Muthialpet, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Government Women’s Polytechnic, Airport Road, Lawspet, and Vallalar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Lawspet.

A control room would function at the office of the co-ordinating supervisor, Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, I Floor, ‘B’ Block, Chief Secretariat, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The contact numbers are 0413-2226147/2233257, said the release.
