Washington hits century

CHENNAI: M.S. Washington Sundar’s 105 was instrumental in Pace CA scripting an 88-run win over J.S. Rao CA in the under 12 section of the Asiatic CA annual summer cricket tournament held here.

The scores:

Under-12: Pace CA 188 for four in 25 overs (M. S. Washington Sundar 105, G. Yogaraj three for nine) bt J.S. Rao CA 100 for eight in 25 overs.

LHCA 90 in 22.1 overs (Ajith Srinivasan 26, M. Sairam three for 20) lost to Prahalad CA 92 for four in 18.5 overs (S. Prasanna Venkatesh 36 not out).

J.S. Rao CA 134 for eight in 25 overs (V. Vishal 30, Sai Krishna three for 18) bt Budding Star CA 88 in 19.4 overs

St. Patrick’s CA 121 for one in 25 overs (G.V. Vignesh 65 not out, Nanda Kishan 39) bt Audichetty Memorial CA 74 for seven in 25 overs.

Under-14: V.V.C.A 206 for two in 30 overs (R.A. Raj 86, R. Anirudh 36, T. Kranthi 33 not out} bt St. Patrick’s CA 144 for nine in 30 overs (A.R. Sri Hari Prasad 25).

J.S. Rao CA 97 in 24.4 overs (V. Shivarama Krishnan four for five, S. Karthik Prabhu three for 10, Chidambaram three for 13) lost to Audhi Chetty Memorial CA 100 for five in 18 overs (Sateesh Kumar 39, S. Santosh Shiv 25 not out).

Reddy’s CA 112 in 24.4 overs (I. Syed Imran Ahmed 26, M. Chidambaram Kumar three for 17, S. Karthik Krishnan three for 11) lost to Audhi Chetty CA 115 for one in 14.4 overs (T. Sateesh Kumar 38 not out, V. Shivarama Krishnan 40 not out).

VVCA 134 for nine in 30 overs (R.A. Raj 46) lost to Asiatic CA 135 for two in 21.4 overs (Sudharsan 75, Roop Prasad 38 not out).

Asiatic posts win

Asiatic CA beat AVM-CCF by 38 runs in the Reddy’s under-12 cricket tournament here.

The scores: Asiatic CA 116 for eight in 25 overs (N. Akshaya 27, K. Abhishek five for 16) bt AVM-CCF 78 in 16 overs (Satya 36, S. Swaminathan four for 23).

AVM-CCF 116 for four in 25 overs (B. Esan Aditya 53, Balajee 38) bt Kannaiah CA 93 in 23 overs.

CSSF ‘A’-FSCA in title clash

Chennai St. Bede’s Sports Foundation ‘A’ and FSCA will meet in the final of the Dicky Memorial under-13 cricket tournament to be held here on Friday.

The scores (semifinals): CSSF ‘A’ 119 in 29.3 overs (Daryl S. Ferrario 31, Ajith Varma four for 27, Vijay Ram three for 20) bt Kedar CA 111 in 29 overs (Rohit Kalyan 29).

Combined Districts 143 for nine in 30 overs (Hari Nishanth 40, U. Vishal 32, A. Deepak 29 not out) lost to FSCA 144 for nine in 30 overs (G. Karthik 58).

Narayan-Suryanarayan pair triumphs

P. Narayan Iyer and V. Suryanarayan, with 63.65 per cent in the East-West direction, won the Alumni Club of Anna University open monthly pairs bridge tournament on Wednesday.

The results: North-South: 1. R.N. Subramanian and V.C. Behl 60.30 per cent; 2. Sunil Varghese and Sri Varghese 55.54 per cent; 3. V.N. Ramamurthy and A. Mahadevan 53.66 per cent; East-West: 1. P. Narayan Iyer and V. Suryanarayanan 63.65 per cent; 2. Padmini Diwakar and Cawas Mistry 62.18 per cent; 3. Santhalakshmi and Lakshmi Menon 57.49 per cent.
