Quest Net: treatment for prime accused
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: The V Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday directed the Superintendent of Police of Central Prison in Puzhal to provide adequate medical treatment to Pushpam, prime accused in the ‘Quest Net Scam case.’
When the case came up for hearing, Magistrate S. Muruganandam said she should be admitted to the prison hospital and doctor’s advice on the state of her health be obtained. If need be, on the basis of the doctor’s report, she may be admitted into a hospital that is authorised by the State government, he added.
The police, who took custody of the accused four days ago, produced them - Pushpam and Augustine - before the Metropolitan Magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody till May 26.
Ms. Pushpam said that she was suffering from chest pain and was under treatment at a private hospital before being arrested, following which the judge gave his direction.
Counsel appearing on behalf of the Quest Net, said the company was ready to settle claims of legitimate investors.
