Protests greet YSR tour

Staff Reporter

YELLAREDDY (NIZAMABAD Dt.): The Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s road show in the Yellareddy Assembly constituency of the district continued amid protests from TRS and TDP workers on Thursday evening.

A group of TRS workers at Nagireddypet mandal headquarter expressed protest. Meanwhile, a small group of TDP activists including women protested against the price rise. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister addressing a public meeting at Nagireddypet, said had the election code not been in force he would have announced a package to solve the long pending problems of the constituency. “I have taken into note the requirements like a bridge across the Manjira river and drinking water in the constituency. However, I am unable to announce them now in view of the election code,” he said while obliquely making promises.
