APOA names advisor

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association president Lagadapati Rajagopal named Dr. K. Srinivas as its brand ambassador and advisor for a period of two years, according to L.Venkatram Reddy, secretary of APOA.

The main task ahead for the advisor will be to spread the Olympic movement and its spirit in the rural areas of Andhra Pradesh in conjunction with District Olympic Associations.

Simultaneously, he will advise both APOA and DOAs on steps to be taken for popularizing the sports in rural belt across the state, particularly amongst youth, while finding sponsors for basic facilities, coaching and competitions for feasible games, which are locally popular in mandals and villages.

SBH corporate sports

The third State Bank of Hyderabad Corporate T20 cricket tournament will commence from June 14. Basketball and volleyball events will also organised simultaneously.

The finalists would also be invited to join the Inter-City Corporate Cricket tournament at Indore in the month of September this year.

Bridge tournaments
