MP distributes tricycles in Nagapattinam

100 vehicles sanctioned to district

NAGAPATTINAM: A.K.S.Vijayan, Nagapattinam MP, distributed tricycles to 35 physically challenged at a function organised by the Nagapattinam district administration here on Monday.

A. Annadurai, District Revenue Officer, Nagapattinam, presided over the function.

Government’s priority

Mr Vijayan said that the State Government was according priority for welfare of the physically challenged.

He pointed out that the State Government had sanctioned 100 tricycles at a total cost of Rs.3.75 lakh for distribution to the physically challenged in Nagapattinam district.

84 handed over

The distribution will be made through the District Disabled Rehabilitation department of which 84 tricycles had already been distributed to the beneficiaries.

K.S. Kandasamy, District Revenue Officer (Tsunami Relief), S.Yamunabai, District Disabled Rehabilitation Officer, and others spoke.
