Abhijeet posts win

New Delhi: Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta defeated Greek International Master Ioannis Papadopoulos to share the lead at 3.5 points with six others after four rounds of the Kaupthing Open chess tournament at Differdange, Luxembourg, on Monday.

Parimarjan Negi drew with Ukraine’s Woman Grandmaster Natalia Zdebskaja to reach three points. Tania Sachdev and Sahaj Grover won their games against lower-rated players.

The results: Fourth round (involving Indians): Ioannis Papadoulos (Gre, 2.5) lost to Abhijeet Gupta (3.5); Parimarjan Negi (3) drew with Natalia Zdebskaja (Ukr, 3); Tania Sachdev (2.5) drew with Viktoriya Schweitzer (Fra, 1.5); Sahaj Grover (2) bt Sebastian Tudorie (Rom, 1).
