ERODE: Burglars struck at three houses in Sakthi Nagar, near Ammapet, in Appakoodal police station limits on Monday night. According to the police, the burglars first gained entry through the front door into A. V. Sakthivel’s house to decamp with jewellery weighing six sovereigns and Rs. 1,000 in cash. The gang then broke open T.P. Chandru’s house in the same locality to take away Rs. 5,500. The third house where the gang struck was Arul Easwari’s house, from where they decamped with eight sovereigns of jewellery. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
