NMR services suspended

Udhagamandalam: Train services on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) between Mettupalayam and Coonoor have been suspended up to May 15.

Ooty Station Master Ravindranathan told The Hindu here on Monday that the suspension was to facilitate repair and maintenance works. A summer special, which had been introduced between Ooty and Coonoor, has also been suspended. On Sunday, following a trolley mishap, it had been announced that the services between Coonoor and Mettupalayam would be cancelled for two days. Regular trains between Ooty and Coonoor will run as usual. — Special Correspondent
